Vey & Associés

African continent

The firm has a solid base throughout Africa, with links to a wide network of experts and specialists (Morocco, Algeria, Guinea, Tunisia, Gabon, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Djibouti, Cameroon, etc.).

We have been involved in a wide range of projects in this region, providing advice to leading political figures or working directly on behalf of governments.

In this context, we have been called upon on numerous occasions to appear before regional courts and institutions for the protection of human rights: the African Court of Human and People’s Rights, ad hoc courts, the Committee for the Prevention of Torture in Africa, etc.

Switzerland

In view of the increasing number and scale of our international work, we have set up a permanent office in Geneva to take advantage of its strategic location.

Our Geneva office specialises in international law, judicial cooperation and complex litigation.

Geneva is home to several United Nations entities, including the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) and the United Nations Refugee Agency.

Belgium

The firm is involved in proceedings initiated in Belgium or on behalf of Belgian nationals in multi-jurisdictional proceedings.

Luxembourg

Cabinet Vey & Associés regularly acts on behalf of its clients in Luxembourg in various proceedings.

Monaco

The firm has developed in-depth knowledge of Monaco’s legal system and institutions.

Our lawyers have a very active presence in the Principality and have developed a network of professionals who can be mobilised according to our clients’ needs.

Some of our staff have already worked in leading Monegasque law firms.

The United Kingdom

Cabinet Vey & Associés provides its clients with a team of bilingual professionals trained in the specific features of the Anglo-Saxon COMMON LAW legal system, which differs markedly from the French civil law system.

International judicial cooperation

The firm is qualified to act on requests for international mutual assistance, extradition proceedings and European arrest warrants, as well as transnational and multi-jurisdictional proceedings.

We also handle large-scale proceedings concerning applications for asylum in France or residence in foreign countries.

We regularly appear before the Commission for the Control of Interpol’s Files in connection with requests for declassification or withdrawal of Interpol notices.

International Criminal Court

The International Criminal Court is a unique institution with jurisdiction to prosecute and judge individuals for the most serious crimes of international concern (genocide, crimes against humanity, war crimes and crimes of aggression).

Antoine Vey, founding partner of the firm, is on the list of counsel before the International Criminal Court.

As such, he is authorised to appear both before the specialised division for crimes against humanity and war crimes and offences of the Paris Court and before the International Criminal Court, which requires mastery of a complex procedure.
